1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Folo, you agree to these terms. This is placeholder copy for the mockup and is not the binding agreement. The production terms will be reviewed by counsel before launch.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity under your account. You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to use Folo. Lorem ipsum placeholder copy stands in for the full clause.
3. Subscriptions & payments
Subscriptions, tips, and pay-per-view purchases are charged to your saved payment method. Recurring subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Refund eligibility is described in the placeholder refund policy section below.
4. Account balances, ledger and errors
These terms are between you and Folo's operating entity [PLACEHOLDER — Folo's registered legal entity; insert before publish] ("Folo", "we", "us"). (1) Balances displayed in your Folo account (including any wallet, earnings or commission balance) are a record of entitlements maintained by us. They are not a deposit account, e-money or stored funds held for you, and no interest accrues on them. (2) A displayed balance is provisional until paid out. Amounts are only validly credited to a balance where the underlying payment giving rise to them has been actually made and settled. If a payment fails, is declined, is reversed, is charged back, or is not collected for any reason, no entitlement arises in respect of it, regardless of what any balance may display. (3) We may at any time correct errors in any balance or transaction record, including (without limitation) duplicated entries, amounts credited where the underlying payment failed or was never collected, technical faults, and credits applied in error. Where we make a correction we will notify you and, on request, provide a transaction-level statement of the affected entries. (4) A correction made in good faith under this section is not a breach of these Terms of Service. Our liability in respect of any balance error is limited to restoring the balance to the amount properly recordable under these Terms of Service. (5) Any promotional, goodwill or platform-issued credit which we add to a balance at our discretion is not earned income, may be subject to conditions, may expire, and may be withdrawn or adjusted by us where issued in error. Platform-issued credit is not redeemable for cash except where we expressly say so.
5. Creator earnings & payouts
For the avoidance of doubt, creator earnings arise only from payments which have been actually made and settled by the paying user. If a payment fails, is declined, is reversed, or is not collected for any reason, no earnings arise in respect of it, and we may correct any balance which was credited on the basis of such a payment. Where we make such a correction, we will notify you and provide an itemised statement of the affected transactions on request. Without limiting the above, we may withhold or adjust amounts in your balance if and to the extent that any amount was credited in error, including where the underlying payment failed, was reversed, or was never collected (in which case the amount corrected is limited to the amount credited in error).
6. Wallet credit
Credit which you purchase is distinct from any promotional or platform-issued credit which we may add to your wallet at our discretion. Platform-issued credit is not purchased funds, may be subject to conditions or expiry, is not redeemable for cash, and may be withdrawn or adjusted by us where issued in error.
7. Creator content & conduct
Creators retain ownership of the content they publish and grant Folo a licence to host and display it. All users agree to our community standards. Prohibited conduct includes anything unlawful — full enumeration is placeholder here.
8. Refunds & cancellations
You can cancel a subscription at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. One-off purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by law. This is example copy only.
9. Limitation of liability
Folo is provided on an as-is basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. This placeholder section will be replaced with reviewed liability and indemnity language prior to launch.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
